I am seriously obsessed with these booties. AllSaints Jules biker boots, C$295. You can get them here.

Investment piece: Theysken’s Theory Taylor boots

28 Jan

I am all about great investment pieces. I do not get those frequently, for obvious reasons (they tend to be quite expensive), but when I do I am very careful. In the past I have spent ridiculous amounts of money in pieces that end up being too “right now” and a year after end up looking dated, like those crazy Irregular Choice Angel ankle booties that I do not wear anymore.

Well, after a few misses I have learned my lesson. Now I go for classic and timeless as opposed to crazy and flashy. Don’t get me wrong, I still get some of those, but only if the  price is irresistible or if I find a good and cheaper alternative (i.e. Jeffrey Campbell keeps making knock-offs of, well, every major shoe brand).

This was my last purchase:

These booties are the Theysken’s Theory Taylor, and they are so kick ass! They remind me of the 90’s. The craftmanship is fantastic and I can wear them with everything, from dresses to skinny jeans. I have to say, they fit a bit tight, but I am sure they will give in. And best part is, I got them on sale 😉

Have a great week!

First post - Padraig Cottage Booties

I have been pondering about starting a blog for the longest time. Only now, six months after giving birth to an adorable baby girl I decided to take the plunge. I guess I finally have some time to try and create a virtual space of my own. Not too sure of what this space will end up being… I guess I will figure it out as we go.

I LOVE shoes and clothes, I mean, which girl doesn’t. However, every time I think I finally decide to get something for myself, a terrible guilt takes over my head and body and I decide buy something for little S instead. Mind you, I am on mat leave and my income has been reduced considerably. So, not only it is not only about W and I anymore, but there is this little person that needs to be taken care of. Don’t get me wrong, I love taking care of her, but we had to do major adjustments to our lifestyle.

So, I got two pairs of Padraig Cottage wool booties for her. I figured she will need a pair of neutral and a pair of colored boots. I am not a huge fan of pink for girls, I mean, there are so many colors that look adorable on her, I cannot restrict her to the very predictable pink. But there a re so many well intentioned friends that have gifted S pink clothes that I decided to get her to wear them all in the funkiest possible way. And trust me, these booties will help the cause 😉

And let me tell you, as expensive as they are for babies’ shoes (C$36) they are worth every penny. Not only they are insanely cute, they are really warm. Now that we are experiencing the lowest temperatures of the season here in Toronto, these will come really handy. And they look oh so cute.

This is the website http://www.padraigcottage.com/p-211-baby-slipper.aspx where you can see all the colors they have. AND they are 100% Canadian. Not too shabby, eh?
